Projectweek in Koszalin – we are growing!

The Corona pandemic is still affecting our daily lives in Poland. It is therefore all the more gratifying that a project week could finally take place again at the end of January. Almost 20 young people and their coordinators came together in Koszalin, Poland, from January 24 to 27, 2022, to deal with the topic of “Addiction, dependencies and their consequences”. Wiktoria Kszkowiak reports her impressions:

“On the first day we visited the community “Cenacolo”. It was founded in the 1980s by a nun in Italy and primarily cares for young people with addiction problems, especially drug addicts. We got to know the facility and listened to the reports of several young people who are addicted to drugs and are now trying to live without drugs.

The next two days we spent in the House of Mercy (Dom Miłosierdzia). This is also a community of believers. The community tries to help all the people who come there to find a solution to their difficult life situations. At the beginning we got to know the house and listened to the stories of the residents, the priest and the people who seek support there. The next day we helped with many tasks, including preparing food for the poor and homeless. Some of us also got into good conversations with the people who were seeking help there.

In addition, during our free time we had the opportunity to spend time with playing, socializing and dancing. In the morning and evening we had an impulse with praying and reflecting our selves and the day. At the end of the week, many of us were grateful for the project experience and happy to have been involved in the special experience of helping people on the margins of our society.”
