Monthly Motto September 2018

“No one is a stranger to me”

Holy Scripture:  (Gal 3,26)

“You are all children of God.”

Impulse:

Last month we met with 130 young people from seven countries in Budapest. Maybe you were there too? In the beginning, we were strangers to each other: so many new faces and different languages. However, one scene has remained in my memory: after a few days we all sang together with the international band Gen Verde this song: No one is a stranger to me! It became clear to me that meeting the other person in an open and friendly manner is an attitude that should shape our lives. Then real relationships grow and we can value and respect ourselves and others as “children of God”. So also the experience from Budapest works in us, where strangers became friends.

Monthly Motto August

„Hang in- Commit yourself completely and with joy!“

Holy Scripture: Mt 5,37

„Your Yes shall be a Yes, your No shall be a No.“

Impulse:

Sometimes it’s hard to make decisions. Especially when the big decisions of life are coming up: what should I do after school? Which job do I want to take? With which person do I want to spend my life? The decision-making process is then often mixed with the fear of setting the course that might not be reversible. But: to be allowed to decide is a privilege. We do not have to wait for external circumstances to determine our lives. The Bible encourages us to go through life with confidence and make the right choices. The Holy Scripture  gives us a compass for that: no matter what I do, the love of the next one should be crucial! The motto this month can help us not to hesitate but to discover how good it is to be committed to a good cause and to stand up for the good of all.

Monthly Motto December 2017

„Do your best! –Commit yourself completely and with joy!

Scripture: ( Lk 2,10)

“I give you good news of great joy!”

Impulse:

Maybe you are also one of those people who is already thinking about what to give to your friends and family as a Christmas present. Because there is nothing better than seeing the smile on the faces of our beloved ones! We can use the time of advent to find ways how we can become a living present for the others. If we commit ourselves completely we become witnesses of a joy which will last longer than only for the Christmas holidays. And while doing this we can also trust in God. Because this is exactly what he wants to do on Christmas: Become a present for us!
